The Scottish Government decided yesterday not to intervene with plans for the proposed Go Ape sight at Pollok Park.
Members of Glasgow City Council’s Planning Committee voted by 14 to 6 in favour of Go Ape’s application to build a high wire adventure course in Pollock Park. The plan was referred to the Scottish Government as
A Scottish Government spokesman said yesterday:
"Having considered this matter, it is not ministers' intention to intervene by either issuing a direction restricting the granting of planning permission, or by calling in the application for their own determination.
"The council has been authorised to deal with the application in the manner it thinks fit."

“Whilst we are still awaiting official confirmation on the outcome of the planning application to build a course at
“We have always felt it is up to elected representatives to decide on the best way forward and we are happy to leave it to them whether it be at national or local level.
"This year has been a tremendous year with about 20,000 people having enjoyed visiting Go Ape in Aberfoyle. About one third of those come from the Glasgow area and have to make a lengthy drive into the Trossachs, so we would like to be able to provide this challenging and exciting outdoors activity closer to home.”
Go Ape provides award-winning high wire forest adventure courses made up of rope bridges, tarzan swings and zip slides all set high up in the tree tops. The company has won numerous awards as well as having the support and recognition from environmental and forestry bodies.
