COUNCILLORS RETAIN RIGHT TO APPEAR AT TRUMP INQUIRY

COUNCILLORS RETAIN RIGHT TO APPEAR AT TRUMP INQUIRY - Click for larger version Officials have ruled that Martin Ford, and his three colleagues will retain their right to participate in the Menie Estate Planning Inquiry next month.

Last week, Ann Faulds of Dundas & Wison who represent Donald Trump, had written to the senior planning reporter in what was seen as a move to have the Aberdeenshire Councillors excluded from the inquiry.

However, officials have now responded by stating that the four councillors will retain their ‘relevant person status’ for the inquiry – therefore their standing remains unchanged.

Martin Ford said: "I am pleased that it has been confirmed that I and my colleagues, Paul Johnston, Alastair Ross and Debra Storr, are entitled to participate in the inquiry - and that we shall do so on the previously agreed basis as relevant persons.

"I can confirm that we shall present evidence at the inquiry in support of the Council's final decision as planning authority, to refuse the application." "I look forward to the start of the Inquiry in June."
