A move to further punish the councillor who used his casting vote to turn down Donald Trump's planning application for a controversial golf resort has been pulled at the last minute.
After a lengthy meeting last night, the motion to expell Councillor Ford from the ruling Lib Dem group on Aberdeenshire Council was withdrawn. After the group meeting meeting last night (Monday) a short statement was read out by Councillor Ross:
"It was a very constructive meeting. The motion was withdrawn and we move forward together." Councillor Ford added that he was pleased with the outcome of the meeting.
